The abundance of riches offered by Jane Shure in her engaging presentations and workshops are of enormous value to clinicians who treat problems associated with eating disorders, shame and trauma. Jane makes the work feel exciting and accessible: She has a gift for providing comprehensible theoretical information along with richly detailed clinical examples that illuminate the integration of contemporary mind-body thinking into the psychotherapy process.

I recently attended a workshop presented by Jane Shure and her colleague, Beth Weinstock in Philadelphia at the 18th Annual Renfrew Conference. The workshop was a day long workshop entitled "Calming the Inner Critic." I found Jane to be a wonderful workshop leader! She is clearly very knowledgeable about the self-critical voice that plagues not only our clients, but therapists too. Jane, as a presenter is warm and engaging. She is very responsive to both questions and comments from workshop participants. She has the ability to make a group of 100 feel like they are in a small and intimate group. The level of genuine energy and care that she offers in this workshop truly reflects her love and commitment to her work.

Jane and I were spokers together on a panel sponsored by Jewish Family and Children's Service. Working with Jane to prepare for that presentation was a pleasure. Jane brought intelligence, insight, passion and flexibility to our task. Our audience benefited from Jane's thoughtful attention to the assignment, her profound understanding of the issues and her hard work.

While it's been quite a few years since I attended one of Jane Shure's workshops, I still remember it as clinically useful, very sensitive to the clinicians that attended, and a wonderful feel of community in the room.
